Based in Hinesville, Georgia, House of Prayer Christian Church, also known as HOPCC, provides a variety of ministry services to the community. Reaching a wide audience, HOPCC also offers a prayer request line and hosts a radio broadcast that streams worldwide.
In a 2008 study conducted by Wilson Research Strategies, Christian adults were surveyed over the phone on their perspective and use of Christian radio. Adults participating in the survey had to meet the stipulation that they believe that Jesus Christ is the son of God and that he sacrificed himself for the greater good, giving eternal life to all. The results showed that 46 percent of surveyed adults listen to Christian radio, which represents more than 69 million individuals. Of the millions that listen, 65 percent listen more than once a week, with a third tuning in every day.
While a vast majority of the audience attends church regularly, nearly seven million Christian adults stated they listen solely to the radio and choose not to go to church. Music is the primary reason many listen, with teachings and sermons coming in at a close second.
